The Adrenalin Motorsport Team Alzner Automotive has started the new season of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) with a record. For the first time in the team’s history, team manager Matthias Unger’s squad won a total of five different classes in a single race of Europe’s most successful grassroots racing series. With second place in V5, they also secured an additional podium finish.

“I am very happy about our remarkable start to the new season. We reached the podium in all six classes in which we competed. In addition, we have never before managed the feat of five poles and five race wins in one event. What a strong result – I can only thank my entire team and all the drivers for this outstanding performance,” said Unger after the NLS season opener.

Class V4: NLS Champion Philipp Leisen Continues His Success with New Teammates

The No. 1 BMW 325i E90 from Adrenalin Motorsport has already secured three NLS championship titles. This season, the car not only features a new design and a partnership with Quelle Malz, but also a revised driver line-up. However, the changes did not hinder success at the start of the season. On the contrary: Oliver Frisse and Jacob Erlbacher, who are new additions alongside Philipp Leisen, handled the vehicle brilliantly from the start and immediately secured the class win in V4 with a flawless performance.

Class VT2-R+4WD: Perfect Debut for Setsaas/Zils/Sandberg

Sindre Setsaas, Daniel Zils, and Oskar Sandberg—who returned to Adrenalin Motorsport—also delivered a convincing performance. In their first joint outing in the BMW 330i G20, they took on tough competition and secured both the class victory and the win in the production car classification group. The No. 501 Mainhatten Wheels BMW 330i G20, driven by Alex Toth-Jones, Julian Hanses, and Australian Caitlin Wood—known from the W Series—successfully completed the season’s first four-hour race, finishing fifth.

Class BMW M2 CS: Lights-to-Flag Win for Former NLS Champions Griessner/Fübrich

David Griessner and Yannick Fübrich didn’t put a foot wrong in their No. 870 Alzner Automotive BMW M2 CS. The experienced duo, who won the NLS title together in 2019, not only set the fastest qualifying time but also led the race from start to finish, crossing the line with a commanding lead of almost three and a half minutes.

Teammate Brett Lidsey also had a successful outing, racing alongside reigning Trophy champions of the BMW M2 CS Racing Cup, Stefan Kruse and "Bug Bunny". With the Alznan Battery BMW M2 CS, they secured fourth place overall.

Class BMW M240i: Touring Car Aces Muller/Ehrlacher Win on NLS Debut

As part of the season opener, a very special “family team” made their debut in the NLS. Yann Ehrlacher (WTCR Champion 2020 & 2021) and his uncle Yvan Muller (WTCC Champion 2008, 2010, 2011 & 2013) drove the No. 651 Adrenalin Motorsport BMW M240i. The result: pole position, fastest race lap, and a class win for the touring car stars in their Nordschleife adventure.

Sven Markert, Robin Reimer, and Nick Deissler also made a strong impression in the No. 650 Veedol BMW M240i. The trio was on course for a podium finish before unfortunately being involved in a collision that forced them to retire. Lars Harbeck and Laurent Millara, who were competing in the BMW M240i “Weighing Technology” entry, finished fourth in class.

Classes V5/V6: Strong Start for Both Porsche Caymans

Alongside numerous BMW successes, Adrenalin Motorsport was also pleased with the strong performances of the No. 396 NEXEN-TIRES Porsche Cayman S and the No. 444 New Light Vehicle Porsche Cayman. While Lutz Marc Rühl, Christian Büllesbach, Andreas Schettler, and Daniel Zils secured an uncontested win in class V6, Ulrich Korn claimed a strong second place in V5 together with his sons Tobias and Daniel Korn.
